In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix well. Stir in the chopped pecans.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
