Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a madeleine pan with butter or non-stick spray.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat until it turns golden brown, then remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest.

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Pour in the browned butter along with the lemon zest and gently fold until well incorporated.

Spoon the batter into the prepared madeleine pan, filling each mold about 3/4 full.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges of the madeleines turn golden brown.
