Cook kasha according to package instructions. Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and set aside. In a pan, sauté onion, carrot, garlic, and mushrooms in vegetable oil until softened. Add tomato paste, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes. Mix the cooked kasha with the sautéed vegetables. Place a spoonful of the kasha mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly. Place the rolls in a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Serve the kasha kabbage rolls with sour cream on top.
