  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Heat milk and butter in a saucepan until butter melts.
  3. Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal portions.
  7. Shape each portion into a round muffin shape.
  8. Sprinkle cornmeal on a baking sheet and place the muffins on it.
  9. Cover and let them rest for 15 minutes.
  10. Preheat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  11. Cook the muffins for about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  12. Remove from heat and let them cool before serving.
