Hermits with Wine

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the flour, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the raisins, chopped walnuts, and red wine.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let the hermits cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the hermits to a wire rack and let them cool completely.

Once cooled, dust the hermits with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
