Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, molasses, egg, and milk. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  7. While the scones are cooling, make the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk. Drizzle the glaze over the scones before serving.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
