  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat.
  7. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are cracked.
