In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and molasses.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well after each addition.

Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Place the coated balls onto a baking sheet, leaving space between each.
