Heat the milk and butter in a small saucepan until the butter melts. Let it cool slightly.

Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Meanwhile, steam the kabocha squash until tender. Mash it with a fork and mix in the honey.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.

Take one ball and flatten it into a disc. Place a spoonful of kabocha squash paste in the center.

Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, creating a flower shape.

Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.

Place the shaped bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
