  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. In a food processor, pulse the dates and walnuts until finely chopped.
  7. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them with your palm.
  8. Place a small amount of the date and walnut mixture in the center of each flattened dough.
  9. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, sealing it completely.
  10. Place the filled cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. Once cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar.
