In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the mixed dried fruits and chopped nuts.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each cookie slightly with the bottom of a glass.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
