  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add baking soda.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and shape it into a pretzel.
