Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the ground ginger and chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
