Eggnog Thumbprints

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the center of each cookie.

Fill each indentation with a small amount of eggnog.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and ground cinnamon.
