  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the frozen pierogi according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  4. In a bowl, combine the sour cream and chicken broth.
  5. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the cooked pierogi. Top with half of the onion and garlic mixture, half of the sour cream mixture, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, onion and garlic mixture, sour cream mixture, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Place the bacon strips on top of the casserole.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with green onions, salt, and black pepper.
  10. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
