  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Arrange the sliced peaches on top of the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the peaches.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Serve the peach cake at room temperature.
