Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick mix, mashed bananas, sugar, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.

If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Transfer the banana bread to a wire rack and let it cool completely before slicing and serving.
