Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
The invention of chocolate chip cookies is credited to Ruth Graves Wakefield who, in 1938, added broken pieces of a chocolate bar into her cookie dough, expecting them to melt and create chocolate cookies. Instead, the chocolate pieces retained their shape, giving birth to the iconic chocolate chip cookie.
