Peel and chop the potatoes into small cubes.

Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.

While the potatoes are boiling, shred the cabbage.

In a separate pan, melt the butter and sauté the cabbage until softened.

Once the potatoes are cooked, drain and return them to the pot.

Add the milk, butter, salt, and pepper to the potatoes and mash until smooth.

Mix in the sautéed cabbage.
