  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, butter, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie pan to form the crust.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract together.
  5. Add the dates to the egg mixture and mix well.
  6. Pour the date mixture into the pie crust.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes.
  9. Serve the date pie with whipped cream on top.
