Dark Chocolate Macaron with Dulce de Leche
Macarons are said to have been introduced to France by Catherine de’ Medici’s Italian pastry chefs during the Renaissance.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 105 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 7.
Dark Chocolate Macaron with Dulce de Leche

In a bowl, sift together the almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder.

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue whisking until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture until well combined.

Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip.

Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Let the macaron shells rest for 30 minutes to form a skin.

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Bake the macaron shells for 12-15 minutes.

Once the shells have cooled, melt the dark chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.

Spread a layer of dulce de leche on half of the macaron shells and sandwich them with the remaining shells.

Dip each macaron in the melted chocolate and let it set.
