Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with cupcake liners.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together, stirring until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.

In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth and creamy.

Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, pipe or spread the peanut butter buttercream onto the cupcakes.
