Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.

Spoon the batter into cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once cooled, use a knife or cupcake corer to create a small well in the center of each cupcake.

Pipe or dollop whipped cream on top of each cupcake.
