Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies
The chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938. She added chopped up bits from a Nestle semi-sweet chocolate bar into a cookie recipe, expecting the chocolate to melt and create an all-chocolate cookie. However, the chocolate chips retained their shape, creating the first chocolate chip cookie.
