  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the bread into small cubes and spread them on a baking sheet. Toast in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the bread cubes are golden and crispy.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and celery, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes, cooked onion and celery mixture, dried cranberries, chicken or vegetable broth, egg, fresh parsley, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
  7. Let the stuffing rest for 10 minutes before serving.
