  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, molasses, egg, vanilla extract, and buttermilk.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the fresh cranberries.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar, if desired.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  7. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
