In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Cook until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

In a large bowl, crumble the cornbread into small pieces.

Add the onion, celery, sage, thyme, and brown butter to the bowl. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the broth, egg, salt, and black pepper.

Pour the broth mixture over the cornbread mixture and stir until well combined.
