  5. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with a potato masher or fork.
  6. Add the cooked cabbage, milk, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Stir well to combine.
  7. Cook the colcannon over low heat for a few minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish.
