Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt. Stir until just combined.

If desired, fold in the walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
