Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and egg. Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together ground cinnamon and brown sugar. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  5. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal-sized pieces.
  6. Insert a wooden skewer into each cinnamon roll piece and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool slightly before serving.
