  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract together.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.
  8. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon pecan mixture over the batter in the pan.
  9. Spoon the remaining batter over the cinnamon pecan layer and spread evenly.
  10. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon pecan mixture over the top.
  11. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  12. Allow the coffee cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before serving.
