Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water.

Gradually fold in the melted chocolate mixture.

Sift in the flour and gently fold until just combined.

Pour the batter into a greased and lined cake tin.

Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, spread a layer of whipped cream on top of the cake.
