Cinnamon rolls were originally known as ‘kanelbulle’ in Sweden and were traditionally enjoyed on October 4th, also known as Cinnamon Roll Day.

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt butter and add milk. Heat until warm.
  3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  7. Spread pumpkin puree over the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon and chocolate chips.
  8. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25 minutes.
  11. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls.
