Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cupcakes are cooled, frost them with your favorite frosting. Sprinkle shredded coconut on top to resemble a nest.

Place a chocolate egg or candy in the center of each nest. Let the frosting set for 30 minutes before serving.
