  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a square baking pan.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate over a pan of simmering water. Stir until smooth and remove from heat.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until well combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture and mix until smooth.
  4. Sift in the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder, and fold gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. In a chilled bowl, whip the whipping cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until soft peaks form.
  8. Spread the whipped cream over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  9. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
