Chocolate Goodness Cookies
Did you know that chocolate chip cookies were accidentally invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in the 1930s? She ran out of baker’s chocolate and substituted it with chopped-up chocolate, expecting it to melt and spread throughout the dough. Instead, the chocolate pieces retained their shape, giving birth to the iconic chocolate chip cookie!
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 55 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 10.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
