Chocolate Fudge Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in powdered sugar and chocolate chips until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of the chocolate fudge frosting on top. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.

Let the cake rest for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the frosting to set. Enjoy!
