Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies
Maraschino cherries are named after the traditional Croatian liqueur, Maraschino, made from the Marasca cherry.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 60 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 12.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and remaining chocolate chips.

Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.

Dip the cooled cookies into the chocolate mixture, coating the bottoms.

Place the cookies on a wire rack to allow the chocolate to set.
