Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, whisk together the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until thick and pale yellow. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared jelly roll pan and spread it evenly.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched.

While the cake is still warm, dust a clean kitchen towel with powdered sugar.

Invert the cake onto the powdered sugar-dusted towel and carefully peel off the parchment paper.

Starting from one of the short ends, roll the cake up tightly with the towel.

Let the cake cool completely rolled up in the towel.

Unroll the cake and spread whipped cream over the surface.

Roll the cake back up without the towel.

Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for decoration.
