Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the macadamia nuts and chocolate chips. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
