  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the chicory.
  7. Sprinkle the cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
  8. Dot the casserole with butter.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  10. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
