Peel and quarter the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until tender.

While the potatoes are boiling, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cabbage and green onions. Cook until softened.

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the milk and butter. Mash until smooth.

Stir in the cooked cabbage and green onions. Season with salt and black pepper.
