Cheesy hash brown egg nests
Hash browns were originally created in Switzerland in the 19th century and later became popular in the United States.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Grease a muffin tin.

In a large bowl, combine the frozen hash browns, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper.

Divide the hash brown mixture evenly among the muffin cups, pressing it down to form nests.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Remove the muffin tin from the oven and crack an egg into each hash brown nest.

Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.

Garnish with chives, if desired.
