Cheesecake Flan
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
-
Add the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
-
In a small saucepan, heat the granulated sugar and water over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture becomes caramel-like.
-
Pour the caramel into a 9-inch round baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
-
Pour the cream cheese mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
-
Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the larger pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the baking dish.
-
Carefully transfer the pans to the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center of the flan is set.
-
Remove the pans from the oven and let the flan cool in the water bath for 10 minutes.
-
Remove the baking dish from the water bath and let the flan cool to room temperature.
-
Once cooled, refrigerate the flan for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow it to set.
-
To serve, run a knife around the edges of the baking dish to loosen the flan. Invert the dish onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel to drizzle over the top of the flan.
-
Slice and serve chilled.
