Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Reserve 1 cup of the oat mixture for the topping. Press the remaining oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and spread the caramel sauce evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the reserved oat mixture and chopped nuts on top.

Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
