Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a square baking dish.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butterscotch chips and butter together. Stir until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the melted butterscotch mixture.

In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chopped apples, pears, and walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the squares to cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
