  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar mixture, stirring continuously.
  5. Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  6. If desired, fold in the walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest in the baking dish for 30 minutes.
  10. Cut into squares and serve.
