Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Cook until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add the brown butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
