Steam the broccoli florets until tender and set aside.

Butter one side of each bread slice.

Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the unbuttered side of two bread slices.

Top the cheese with steamed broccoli florets.

Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the broccoli.

Place the remaining cheese slices on top of the broccoli.

Cover with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing up.
