Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cut the bread into small cubes and spread them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 10 minutes until golden brown.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes, cooked onion and celery mixture, chicken broth, parsley, sage, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Let the stuffing rest for 10 minutes before serving.
